The Variety of Blogs

17 Mar 2003

As I said last post, blogs can be about anything. On one hand you have blogs about the war in Iraq from a CNN correspondent who is currently in Iraq and an independant journalist who is raising money in an attempt to go back to cover the war. On another hand you have a Barbie blog from Mattel Inc. and a blog about a new drink from Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. called Raging Cow. While you can not stop people from creating weblogs like the last two, you can hope that they only recieve an intial surge of visitors who come to gawk at their hideousness. Then the weblogs will slowly die, only to be laughed at again next year when people are reminded of the clueless corperations trying to ride the weblog revolution. The first two however show a different side of weblogging that I think is more in tune with what the revolution is all about.
