Capturing A Moment

On Thursday, Dave writes “An editorial on this moment in time” and that phrase got me thinking more about weblogs and their ability to capture and record moments in time. These views of time obviously come from a certain person’s perspective, as basically everything does. But writings like are part of what creates memories and history. And with weblogs it is so easy to go back and say “what happened on this day. How did I see the world. How did [person X] see the world.” What I would like to see is each weblog running a web service that allows anyone to query the weblog and ask “What happened on day [dd/mm/yyyy]?” and the weblog would return the RSS feed of that day. Then using some scripts for processing RSS it would be easy to combine a bunch of weblogs of your choosing into an aggregate view of that day.
