Last night in Waterloo

27 Apr 2003

Yesterday my brother, Tim, came to pick me up and move me back home to Akron. Before leaving we got together with Matt Goyer, John Cormie, and Doug Friesen, had some Chinese food and caught up with what was happening. We talked a bit about Waterloo and its IT and more generally how the university is too closed and bureaucratic, and how administration seems to care more about its public image than its students. We also talked about what would be needed in order to start a weblogging project for UW. We concluded that it is probably best to get an initial grassroots movement with blogs from a few profs, grad students, clubs, etc. Hopefully this would show administration the usefulness of weblogs and would help gain support.
