Digital Junkyard at UW

16 Mar 2004

I have been trying to find some more information about this “digital junkyard” project that is affiliated with the recently opened Canadian Centre of Arts and Technology. However the CCAT website isn’t up yet, and all I can find are press a few press releases from UW and a bunch of news clips and speculation from other sources.

Globe and Mail: Digital junkyard in works

Forbes: Saving The Data Deluge For Posterity’s Sake

Techdirt: Digital Junkyard: A Competitor To The Internet Archive?

The Quill: November Recap – stuff about CCAT and digital junkyard

Australian Institute for Commercialisation: Digital Recycling (see 10 Oct 2003) – actually mentions infrastructure being mostly complete and digitization process

    Hey Matty,

I was just chatting with Andrew Harvey and he was saying that he just picked up a laptop and is looking at getting more seriously into taking photos at the Rally Car races he goes to but he doesn’t have a digital camera yet. I was telling him that you too should hook up, ’cause you have a digital camera and web design skills. Who knows, take care
